Palin on SNL

Yeah, I know what you sick people come here for.

"I know what you sick people come here for."

Well, I learned one thing: the Sarah Palin we get in a campaign stump speech has way more energy, and is far more interesting than the Sarah Palin SNL gave us!

This is one wonderful lady.

I know what you mean. That part was disappointing, because in both cases she's reading someone else's words from a teleprompter. You'd think she'd be at least as good on SNL as she is at her rallies.

I was hoping she would play Tina Fey. Now THAT would be funny. Instead, she's shown standing back, watching other female performers act AS her.

This isn't what I've come to expect from politicians on SNL. McCain has been hilarious on the show. He even hosted a few years ago. In fact, he's been better on SNL than in his debates.

What I didn't like was that the whole opening segment seemed contrived. It was as if they were all on their best behavior, the antithesis of good comedy. I didn't find either Palin or Fey or Baldwin et al in the least bit funny. Can't wait for next wk when Fey can do her usual schtick playing Palin better than Palin does.

They weren't great segments. Palin's shown herself to be a poor actress, so it's not surprising they had her take a backseat role.

If I see her face routinely after 2009, I may have to develop a Palin-block plugin for Firefox.
