As I watch the debate

Reader-submitted question: Here's the real question: Are you still going to vote McCain?

Just curious to know if you are also eligible to vote in the upcoming Canadian election. That would be a pretty unique situation if you able to. If you lived in Nunavut you might even have been able to vote in the territorial election at the end of the month. That's more elections than my nerves handle though I must admit.

I find it interesting how much attention US elections draw. I try to avoid traditional media (due to my own unanalyzed biases) but I keep hearing reporters talking about how excited people in France or in Germany are about the upcoming election.

I struggle to determine if this is complementary to the US (Whoot! The US is the BEST! Think how many great things Obama is going to do for that country and the world!) or if it might be more of the wariness that comes over the owner of a china store on seeing a trained bear walk in the door (OH CRAP!!! Watch it! Those are FREAKIN EXPENSIVE!).

Oh, thank God. I thought the world might end if an intelligent person like yourself somehow still supported McCain/Palin. It's not even that they're Republican, but that they are just scary. With everything this country and world is going through this is not the year to vote party lines.

Oh, my...
Well, I guess I'll just have to vote twice, to make up for you. (Luckily, I live in Florida, so I can do that.)

Torq: Trained? You give your country too much credit.

That is one confusing looking ballot. Now I just have general fear of how election day's going to go.

I'm living vicariously through your vote. It feels wonderful.

Oh you voted for "that one over there"? Elitist.

I'm just happy to see that you didn't vote for Cynthia McKinney from my home state of Georgia. I can't believe anyone who would hit a Capitol police officer would even have the nerve to run for the office.

Yes a "Trained" Bear. You know, like one riding on a locomotive... TRAINED!

HAHAHAHA!

Thank you for your vote Megan. Too bad your dad canceled it. Sigh. You at least have the option of living in another country. There is no escape for me, not even Iceland, so it appears.
